Synopsis
The Earth lies darkened and deserted. Despite the best efforts of the film’s heroine, Hikaru, the evil-filled castle of Cephiro has taken over the world and stands in the center of a lifeless Tokyo. Before the ice-witch Alcyone can take her revenge on Hikaru, she is rescued by Lantis, a young man who seals her into a magical maze where she is challenged to prove her powers while her friends are hunted down by Cephiro’s warlocks.
The OAV begins with a kind of old castle which is soon surrounded by light. An older Guru Clef is seen on the peak of a hill when suddenly he is attacked by some kind of ice daggers, he manages to move in time but a huge genius appears and starts attacking him. Guru Clef manages to flee by summoning one of his huge magical birds.
After the explosion, the city is in ruins. Hikaru lies on the ground passed out. Latis and her wolf, is next to her, he comments that someone must stop this situation. In another part of the city, Fuu looks at the place where Hikaru fought and wonders if she would be as strong in a similar situation. Mokona makes a gesture and Fuu hears a voice that says, "Do you have the willpower to break the shell that covers your heart?".
In a Zephyr forest, Princess Esmeralda and Zagato are seen looking at each other. In another time, in a dry Zephyr, Zagato, as chief priest of Zephyr, performs a self-sacrifice in front of Eagle for the forgiveness of the sins committed by the humans of Zephyr. Latis, Zagato's brother, runs to stop the ceremony but doesn't make it in time.
